Seventy direct foreign exhibitors from abroad participated in the trade fair on an overall net exhibition area of 1.646 sqm. Germany and Italy had joint stands.
The jubilee Aqua-therm Praha was officially opened by the Under-Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Václav Srba, the Under-Secretary of State for Environment, Pavel Labounek, the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Jaromír Drábek, the Director of Reed Exhibitions Messe Wien, Matthias Limbeck, and other guests. The trade fair was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic and the Chamber of Commerce of the Capital Prague. The expert guarantee was ensured by the Federation of Entrepreneurs in the Field of Technical Equipment of the Czech Republic and the Association of Expert Wholesalers in Gas, Water, Heating and Ventilation Technology.
GOLD MEDALS
The expert evaluation committee headed by the director of the Czech Energy Agency, Josef Bubeník, awarded gold medals at the exhibition to the nine best exhibits and awarded certificates of merit to eight exhibits. The awards were presented to the exhibitors by the Mayor of Prague, Pavel Bém and the Under-Secretary of State, Pavel Labounek.

The accompanying expert programme of the trade fair was also extensively represented and visited this year. The international conference East, organised by the Federation of Entrepreneurs in the Field of Technical Equipment of the Czech Republic, was held for the third time upon the occasion of the trade fair Aqua-therm. And the expert seminar of the European Association of Companies for Environmental Equipment REHVA was also held. The entire trade fair was also permeated by the expert conference of the Internet portal TZB-info. More than 700 people attended the expert programme of the trade fair.
This year the organising firm Progres Partners Advertising also asked exhibitors how they were satisfied or dissatisfied with the trade fair. A total of 116 exhibitors filled in questionnaires: 61,8 of exhibitors were completely satisfied with the overall organisation of Aqua-therm, and 28,1 of exhibitors were rather satisfied. 66,7 of exhibitors praised the personnel at the trade fair, and 26,9 of those questioned rather praised them. 59,8 were fully satisfied with the promotion of the trade fair on the part of the organiser, and 34,8 of exhibitors were rather satisfied. 54,9 of exhibitors gave a wholly positive appraisal of the atmosphere at the trade fair, and 38,5 gave a rather positive appraisal. Only somewhat less than seven percent of exhibitors at the trade fair were more or less dissatisfied.
Comparison of last year's trade fair with previous years
At the jubilee tenth trade fair, 454 exhibitors from 16 countries exhibited. Last year there were 448 exhibitors from 13 countries. This year 384 firms from the Czech Republic and 70 from abroad participated at the trade fair. In comparison with last year there was an insignificant drop in the number of Czech exhibitors, but there was a significant increase in the number of exhibitors from abroad.
The overall net exhibition area of the trade fair this year was 14,845 m2 (last year it was 14,605 m2). Accompanying events in pavilions C and D were held on a further 250 m2. The seventy foreign exhibitors occupied a net total exhibition area of 1,646 m2 compared with 1,291 m2 last year.
A total of 43,930 visitors came to this year's trade fair, which is at the level of last year (44,113). A survey of the structure of visitors to the trade fair (756 visitors addressed at random) confirmed the positive results of the previous years in most indicators. This means that three quarters of visitors came to the trade fair on business (this year it was 72.4 %, the average for the last five years has been 73.8 %), and every fifth visitor came to the trade fair on more than one day. This year there were more visitors from outside Prague at Aqua-therm (60.3 %) than in the previous five years (56.7%). There was also a significant increase in the number of expert visitors from abroad to 4.9% (the five-year average is 2.6%).
The share of visitors with decision-making powers was also confirmed. This year, 61.6% of expert visitors had decision-making or joint decision-making authorisation in purchasing and investments for their firms (the five-year average was 62%). This year 98.1% of visitors were satisfied with the offer of the exhibitors (the five-year average was 97.4%). 97% of this year's visitors intend to come to the trade fair in 2004.
The tenth annual international expert trade fair Aqua-therm Praha clearly showed that it is the number one amongst marketing events in the field of technical equipment of buildings in the Czech Republic. Ninety-seven out of one hundred visitors consider Aqua-therm Praha to be the most prestigious trade fair in this field.
